Hodroyd Hall

The Hodroyd estate was acquired from Nostell Priory by the Gargrave family in the 16th century, and subsequently in the 17th century by Richard Berrie (by marriage), whose wife Prudence endowed the school at the Church of St Peter, Felkirk. It is now privately owned and is well known for its ghost stories. One being that of the maid who is said to haunt the fireplace! Overlooking fields, with a wonderful view of St Peter’s Church, Hodroyd Hall is only a twenty-five minute walk away from the centre of Havercroft and makes a picturesque journey any time of year.
