Active and Inspired was a project run by the Health Improvement Team of Wakefield Council encouraging children and young people to become more active. Around 25 projects are running in communities across Wakefield District.

We were commissioned to work with four groups to document the impact of the projects on young people’s physical heath, mental wellbeing and aspirations for the future. The projects we worked with are American Football Pit Valley Saints in South Elmsall, Sea Cadets Castleford, Boxing and yoga at St Georges in Lupset and drama/movement with Stride Theatre at Hall Green.

The project covers two years and was documented on film and through photography.
