St James’ Church Ryhill

The parish of this church is made up for 4 villages, Ryhill, Havercroft, Cold Hiendley and Wintersett. Dedicated to St James the Great, the church was consecrated in 1876. The parish centre is attached to the church building and was built in 1990 in matching stone. The church seats about 120 people. A local Arts Society meets regularly in the Methodist Church with occasional guest speakers and from time to time hosts an exhibition of their work which is on sale to the public. The church is a wonderful place to visit for some peace and quiet, and also is a great landmark to pass before a walk down Nostell Lane surrounded by countryside views.
